Data Secure applies investment criteria in selecting entrepreneurs to present at the regular meeting with our investors. The criteria include:

1. Clear exit in medium term: typically via trade sale or IPO

2. Attractive financial return: meet expectation of >10X within 5-7 years

3. Sustainable competitive advantage: idea is better, cheaper or faster than competition.

4. Strong management team: track record in company-specific industry or new venture development.

5. Highly attractive market: market diversification with no risk mitigation and trade barriers.

6. Evidence of customer traction: venture is revenue generating or close to generating revenues.

7. Funds used for growth: must show how funds will be used to increase the company’s value with optimal balance of risk.

8. High growth potential: opportunity to scale business models rapidly, both locally and internationally with competitive advantages.

9. Investments typically range from $ 5 - 150 M depending on the stage of business development ,funding structure, and overall finance requirements

Process

Data Secure’s investors invest in both private and public companies across an array of industries and geographies that meet our investment principles.

The investment process is divided into 7 phases: From the identification of new projects, then to due diligence and finally to the investment. How we proceed


During the initial contact, we want to get to know the business owner’s company and their plans. We invite them to discuss their project with us.
As a preparation for our initial meeting, we require the following information:
1. Business plan and short description of the company
2. Shareholder structure
3. The last two annual financial statements, as well as the medium-term plan
4. Capital need and use of the fund

The next step is further meetings with Investment Partners, reviewing the business model & product roadmap.

Following an Investment Committee decision, Due Diligence is conducted on the company, founders, technology etc…

Legally binding contract that establishes a confidential relationship between Data Secure and the project owner.

DSL will facilitate connections as requested by organising meetings between the project owner and DSL potential investors
Review of executive summary or business plan to gauge their interest , followed by questions from the assembled investors.
Following the pitch , Project owner will have the opportunity to network with DSL investors and hand out executive summaries.
If interested, DSL investors will elect a lead and conduct due diligence (and, if deemed appropriate, issue a term sheet).

Contract explaining the rights and obligations to the deal between Project owner and the investor who acknowledges the idea with a lawful thought

Convergence of will between project owner and investor, indicating an intended common line of action, marking the beginning of an intensive collaboration.
A success fee of 5% of the total investment by the DSL network will be charged to the entrepreneurs or project owner via invoice.
